This site centers around two families from Tramonti:
As was apparently customary, the families intermingled and oftentimes brothers of one family married sisters of another family. This was the case with our family. Gennaro Amato married Fortunata Venosi, and his brother Giuseppe married Preziosa Venosi, Fortunata's sister. That gives us descendants a pretty strong relation! There is also Antonio, a brother of Angelo, who married a Marianna Venosi. Unfortunately, birth certificate documentation for Marianna cannot be found, so it cannot be verified if she is the sister of Beniamino. However, considering the small population of Tramonti at the time, it would seem likely that she was somehow related to Beniamino.
It is interesting to note that there were very few Amatos and Venosis in Tramonti during the 1800's. Apicella was the most common surname during that time.
